Martin Blanchard (born 1691 AN) is a New Alexandrian politician and civil engineer serving as Secretary of Civil Works and Transportation since 1744 AN. A member of the Federal Humanist Party, he has represented Santander in the Federal Assembly since 1734 AN. The son of Michael Blanchard, former Governor of Santander and Deputy Secretary of Civil Works and Transportation, Martin followed his father into both civil engineering and politics. Born in Rosselló, he studied civil engineering at the University of Santander and gained early experience through the family's connections to Santander's infrastructure development sector before entering politics in his own right.
Blanchard was appointed Secretary by Premier Juan Pablo Jimenez in 1744 AN, replacing Ignacio Perez de San Quintin, who left the position to become Speaker of the Federal Assembly.[1] His appointment reflected both his technical expertise and Jimenez's emphasis on experienced administrators in his second-term Council of State. As Secretary, Blanchard oversees the National Infrastructure Renewal Program and coordinates infrastructure expansion supporting the Force 1752 initiative. He has focused on sustainable development, regional transportation integration, and workforce development through the Critical Skills Initiative.
