Blue Kaek (Akhidian: Gökkek; Cibolan Saxon: Blaukaek; Jingdaoese: 青糕 Qīnggāo), officially the Barony of Blue Kaek and Zijincheng (Cibolan Saxon: Freiherrschaft Blaukaek und Zijincheng; Jingdaoese: 青糕及紫禁城男國 Qīnggāo jí Zǐjìnchéng Nanguó) and also known as East Kaek or Right Kaek, was a landlocked territory in northern Cibola ruled by Mondo Etzeterra. The historic city of Zijincheng, ceded to Mondo in the Treaty of Gaelen's Landing, became the territory's capital in VIII.1707 AN.
In II.1734 AN, Blue Kaek united with neighbouring West Kaek to form the Barony of Great Kaek and Zijincheng, which subsequently became a crownland of Etzeland in 1737 AN.
Geography
The barony had a total area of 117,840 square kilometres. The terrain was predominantly mountainous and forested.
Demographics
The population was estimated at 25,000. Roughly half were ethnic Kaekers, who inhabited small rural villages dispersed throughout the territory. The remainder were of Jing or Batavian descent and lived in or around Zijincheng, the only settlement of note.
Government and politics
Blue Kaek was an absolute monarchy. Sovereignty and executive authority wass vested solely in the person of the baron, Mondo Etzeterra, who appointed a governor to administer the territory in his absence. There was no legislature or provision for democratic elections.
Administrative divisions
For the purposes of law and administration, the barony was subdivided into two distinct jurisdictions: Blue Kaek, and the City of Zijincheng. By far the larger of the two, Blue Kaek had an area of 105,384 square kilometres and a population estimated at 10,000 or less. The City of Zijincheng, by contrast had an area of 12,456 square kilometres, but was home to over 15,000 people, most of whom live in the central urban area surrounding the historic Forbidden City.
