The Valencia national football team is the football team which currently represents the Alexandrian territory of Valencia, and previously represented the Victorian constituent nation and independent kingdom of the same name. It is a member of the EMUFA.

The team has existed twice in the FMF's history; firstly between late 2009 and mid-2014 as an independent nation, constituent nation of Victoria and territory of Alexandria, and secondly since 2014 in its current form.

History

The team was founded in late 2009 after Valencia's Micrasian claim was successful. Prior to the following year's qualifiers for the FMF World Cup, Valencia was annexed by Victoria and became a constituent nation of the empire, but retained its separate FMF membership. In the qualifiers, the Valencian team topped their group by a point and sealed qualification to the 2010 FMF World Cup. They advanced from their finals group with two wins out of three before being comfortably beaten by eventual champions Craitland in the quarter-finals.

The 2011 qualifiers were less of a success for the Valencians, with the team finishing second in their group to Nova England, missing-out on qualification by a point. However, their placing qualified them for the 2011 EMU Championships, where they could only manage fifth place in a six-team group without winning any matches. Later in the year, Valencia was annexed by Alexandria following Victoria's death.

The Valencians' fortunes lessened again in 2012's qualifiers, where the team could only finish third in their five-team group with eleven points, missing-out on qualifying for any tournaments for the first time.

In the 2013 qualifiers, the team finished second in their group with 16 points, above New Vaduz by a point, to qualify for EMU 2013. In the finals, the team finished second in their three-team group with one point, above Austbard on goal difference.

The following year, the team finished third in their four-team qualifying group with eight points. Valencia left Micras soon afterwards after Alexandria reduced its land claims, but returned later in the year after Alexandria reëxpanded.

In 2015's qualifiers, the team finished second in their five-team group with 15 points to advance to the play-offs, where they beat Indokistan 4–0 on aggregate to reach the finals for the first time since 2010.
