2018–19 Super League Football season |
Super League Football is a Florian professional football league which is set to replace the Florian Premier League, as the top flight league in the Florian Republic. The SLF is an initiative driven by existing Florian Premier League members and an extensive list of potential investors. The league is expected to include 20 teams split into two conferences. The teams of which are current Florian Premier League sides and 10 new franchises which are set to be confirmed. The winners of each conference are expected to be entered into the AEFA Champions' League and the runner-up of each conference is expected to be entered into the AEFA Cup.
The league was founded after the breakaway of Florian Premier League clubs in December 2017. Huge TV contracts are expected to be signed as well as the creation of football-specific stadiums in the country. Promotion and relegation will not be operated as other professional leagues in the country do not operate promotion and relegation. Entry into the league is by a successful application which must include a detailed business plan.
