The New Alexandrian general election of 1703 is the third general election of the Federation of Nouvelle Alexandrie after its formation in 1685 AN. The 1703 general election was held from 12.XV.1703 AN to 14.XV.1703 AN, in line with the Proclamation of Punta Santiago and the laws of Nouvelle Alexandrie. With 130,449,537 votes cast, the election broke records with 79.5% turnout nationally, making it the election with the highest voter turnout in the history of the Federation.

Opinion polls had consistently shown the Federal Humanist Party leading the polls over the Social Democratic & Liberal Alliance. The Federal Humanist lead began to diminish in the final weeks of the campaign. In a surprising result, the Federal Humanist Party had a net loss of 55 seats, losing its majority in the Federal Assembly. The election resulted in the Social Democratic & Liberal Alliance securing the most votes and 309 seats in the Federal Assembly, just one seat shy of securing an outright majority with a gain of 75 seats. The election also saw the Digger's Society lose vote share and seats, plummeting to 4 seats from 15 last election. The Freedom Party fell to 3 seats from 5 in the previous election but saw its share of the vote increased.

The election took place across all ten Regions, each with its own number of seats based on population, under proportional representation.

Electoral system

Elections in Nouvelle Alexandrie are conducted region by region through proportional representation. Voters then choose from the parties on the ballot or have the option to vote for a slate of independent candidates. Seats are apportioned to each region using the Sainte-Laguë method, a highest quotient method for allocating seats in party-list proportional representation. In Nouvelle Alexandrie, the thresholds for a party to get seats in a region is set to 2%. This election would be the last election where seats would be apportioned in accordance to the census conducted in 1693 AN, just before the 1693 general election.
