Mataba Defence Forces Football Club or MDFFC is a Matabese professional football club in Mataba which plays in the Liga Mataba. Despite their name, membership of the Defence Forces was not a prerequisite for players representing the team, and several international players have played for them.

History

Mataba Athletic Assocation Defenders SC

The Defenders were founded by the Matabese Athletic Association to give local soldiers a way to express their pastime and intrests into Matabese football. The team would compete in the Matabese Lower Divisions where they would rarely finish top of the league more frequently at the bottom due to lack of funding and facilities.

The club was soon disbanded by the Matabese Athletic Association as they couldn't find a proper investor for the club and the government back then was too focused on their own football club than caring for the region's soldiers. All players were released and the club wasn't seen again for a very long time as the Matabese Athletic Association decided to hide such embarrassment from the public eye.

MDFFC

MDFFC would finally return to the football scene this time as a full professional team as this time it was properly funded and backed by the Daau-led Starblam Sports Investment group. However things didn't go to plan when the club was rock bottom midway into the season. The club would then bring in Ismaily Al-Arab who was drafted from DNTP to join the club. It was then announced the club was also going to sign 2 more foreigners to help the club gain a better finish in the league.

The Defenders also sacked Dauian manager Nazrul Jazulrani and signed local star manager Nabil Wan Qingkal to help the team move up in the league standings. It was also then announced that another DNTP graduate, Samuel Kettleworth would be joining the club after the club announced the arrival of Ismaily Al-Arab.

Stadium

MDFFC as professional football club has its office located in Mataba Business District.

The defenders used to play in the Pafle Institution Pitch until they moved back to Peflangoon Stadium in Pafle District.
