4 YEARS LATER: ALKHIVA OIL SPILL TEACHES LESSONS TO LOCAL GOVERNMENTS
ALKHIVA, ALDURIA -- The massive oil spill in Alkhiva, Alduria 4 years ago still is fresh in the minds of the residents of Alkhiva and its nearby coasts.Today, the federal Department of Energy and Environment released a comprehensive report written and co-authored by local Aldurian agencies that confirm that the Alkhivan oil spill has been neutralized and cleaned up.
"For the last four years, we have cleaned up tar and made extensive evaluations and expeditions to confirm that the oil has been cleaned, and we can confirm with certainty that it has," says the report.
It is not yet entirely clear if any more oil remains in sediment and in the depths of the ocean, but the report unveils extensive testing and exploration confirms minimal to no trace of oil is left in the coasts or waters around Alkhiva.
The Alkhivan oil spill released millions of barrels of crude oil into the sea and resulted in the arrest of several executives and managers in the Aldurian Oil Company for their efforts to cover-up the spill and minimize its effects.
