The Boreal Defence and Security Agreement is a mutual defence pact signed on 13.IX.1731 AN between the Benacian Union and the Kingdom of Normark. It commits both nations to maintaining the Humanist ideology and political system within their realms as well as continued adherence to the Raspur Pact.
The agreement has its roots in the close military cooperation between the Benacian Union and Normark during the Wars of the Dispossessed and the entrenched ideological bond of Humanist governance in both states. With the rising threat of revanchism by the Confederacy of the Dispossessed across northern Keltia following the Fall of Calbion, and the ongoing Shiro-Benacian Cold War, the agreement formalises a mutual defence arrangement that goes beyond the provisions of the Raspur Pact to guarantee mutual support in the event of any preemptive action undertaken by either party.
Boreal Defence and Security Agreement
This agreement, signed on 13.IX.1731 AN in the city of Ardashirshahr, establishes a mutual defence and security pact between the Benacian Union and the Kingdom of Normark.
Article I
Both parties shall maintain the Humanist political system within their respective realms and remain subject to the directives of the Raspur Pact.
Article II
In the event that either party becomes engaged in hostilities with a third party, they shall immediately consult with the other party to this agreement.
Article III
Should hostilities continue for more than one month (AN) following the consultation outlined in Article II, the other party shall provide the following support to the party directly engaged:
- Full industrial cooperation and prioritisation of military production
- Sharing of intelligence assessments and resources
- Recruitment and deployment of volunteer military forces to augment the combatant party's armed forces
Article IV
This agreement shall remain in force indefinitely unless abrogated by mutual consent of both parties.
Article V
This agreement shall be registered with the Micras Treaty Organisation and its provisions made publicly available.
