The upper house continues to consist of the Federation's nobility, seated in the Chamber of Peers of Nouvelle Alexandrie. Following the Proclamation of Punta Santiago, the Cortes convened for the first time in 1694 AN and operates under the stipulation that the maximum term of the Cortes spans 5 AN years following the prior general election.
