The Afrikaana national football team was the football team which most recently represented the Haifan autonomous territory of Afrikaana, and previously represented the North Antarctican autonomous region of the same name. It was a member of the CTFA, after originally being affiliated to the AEFA, and was run by the AFA.
History
The team was founded in 2013 after Afrikaana was granted increased autonomy from North Antarctica. Later in the year, the team competed in the first Antarctic Shield, where they finished second in the three-team group. Soon afterwards, the team competed in the second Senyan School International Tournament, finishing second in their four-team group before losing their semi-final and third-place play-off to place fourth.
In early 2014, Afrikaana became a territory of Haifa, as part of North Antarctica's annexation, but maintained its separate FMF membership. In the year's qualifiers, the team finished fourth in their six-team group with ten points. The team switched allegiance to the CTFA confederation soon afterwards, but left Micras in early 2015 after being merged back into North Antarctica following its annexation by Mercury.
