Mohd Fahmi bin Ohmid Hussien (also spelled Omid) is a Dauian former professional footballer and a professional football manager for Daau Super League club Daau United..
Known as a legend among the Dauian football community, Fahmi is the only Dauian footballer to have claimed a domestic treble with 3 different clubs in the D League prior to their rebranding to become the later known Daau Top League. Fahmi was also nicknamed by generations after as the Father of Dauian Strikers due to his track record.
Playing career
Born in Seragaan to a footballing family, Fahmi's father Omid Hussien was an amateur player for local side Bukit Circuit and once represented the Seragaan State Team in the Sultan Cup of Mataba in 1970. Fahmi would join the Bukit Circuit youth academy due to connections with the side and would soon be snapped up by fellow semi-professional Prime League side Bedok FA. During his time with Bedok FA, Fahmi would bombard opposition defences due to his monstrous left foot and his incredible rapid feet as he blazed past opponents to slot the ball in the net time after time. Fahmi held the most goals scored in a game in the Prime League with 5 goals to his name during a playoff match against Sudah FA. Fahmi's work on the pitch helped Bedok FA gain promotion to the D League and would soon claim his first D League title in the 1981-82 season with his teammates. Fahmi would join Seragaan FA on a free ahead of the 1982-83 season where he scored a disappointing 9 goals across the entire season but was awarded with young player of the season as he claimed the most assists. Described as an all-rounder by many, Fahmi's playmaking ability was praised upon by the media and fans as he could make an incisive pass to his teammates within seconds and would usually result in a goal.
Fahmi would soon join Warriors SC for a fee of Cr 1000 but was sadly sidelined for most of the time during his stint with the D League club and was soon released to join fellow D League side Bay United FC. Across his stay with Bay United, Fahmi netted 52 goals in 51 appearances, meaning he had approximately 1 goal per game and claimed multiple Player of the Season awards during his stay and also claimed his third domestic treble as his skills helped his side win the Dauian Cup, the D League and the President Cup. His goalscoring antics were noticed by many clubs overseas and a fellow Banhnamese club Hua Linh FC would sign Fahmi on a free transfer as he was released on demand by Bay United. Fahmi only played 4 games for Hua Linh FC due to foreign restrictions and the ongoing Banhnamese civil war. By 1991 Fahmi would join Matabese side Pahmer United and link up with fellow Dauian Isaac Zainol where they formed the infamous Zainol-Ohmid strike partnership as usually Fahmi would supply Isaac with the passes for Isaac to finish, thus creating an unstoppable attacking force in the Matabese Super Division. As Isaac Zainol took time off football by the end of the 1992-93 season due to a corruption incident, Fahmi would continue with his footballing career as he signed with Sultan FC on the 1st of January 1993 and managed to win his second Matabese Super Division title after his first with Pahmer United. He departed Sultan FC after one and a half season to link up with Isaac Zainol again at Dauian Lower League side Seragaan United.
Fahmi would retire after the 1998-99 season aged 37 as he tore his anterior cruciate ligament at the end of the season. He would be known by many as the Father of Dauian Strikers due to his all-rounded playing style and his immense footwork on the ball. He also became the first Dauian to step foot on Banhnamese soil as a professional footballer.
Managerial career
Seragaan FC
16 years after retiring, Fahmi stepped out of his other business and became the assistant coach of Sebastian Teo-Vankart at Seragaan FC. He left the club following the 2016-17 season as Teo-Vankart was relieved of his first team duties.
Warriors SC
Fahmi would take on his first proper management position with Daau League 2 club Warriors SC. He led the club to back-to-back promotion from Daau League 2 to Daau Premier League across the span of 3 seasons before being sacked at the start of the 2020-21 season due to poor man management and league standings as the club was bottom of the Daau Premier League by then.
