At the age of 13, Ilhan embarked on a journey overseas alone to trial and train with some famous academies during his summer holidays and however was not successful and was sent home due to poor results.

Club career
Qixying FC
Ilhan would break into the Qixying senior squad in the latter stages of the 2018-19 season with him managing to make 6 apperances at the end. Ilhan also played a crucial role in getting the club out of the relegation zone with him scoring 5 times in 6 appearances including a late winner against Selkonga Birex FC in a shaky 2-1 victory to help the team survive the league.

Ilhan also gave 10 assists as he slotted into the second striker role for the first time in his career during the season. He would continue be pushed up high on the pitch and slowly managed to grasp the striker position. Ilhan's final season with Qixying was the 2020-21 season where he only played 14 games due to the new arrival of foreign striker Mikel Mayatsumo. However Ilhan would continue to play high up on the pitch and slowly started molding into the striker position. Ilhan would only score 4 goals during his final season.
He would also be given a trial chance near the end of the season with an undisclosed overseas club.
Daau United

Ilhan's consistent performances for the first team led to him being awarded the vacant number 7 jersey which formerly belonged to Dauian star striker Clover bin Clover.
Ilhan ended his second season with 8 goals and 12 assists in the league alongside 2 goals in the 2022-23 edition of the AEFA Champions League, capping his most impressive display for the Oranges. His contract then ran out in early June and saw him become a free agent.
