Zathras Kavar
Zathras Kavar was born in 1684 AN in the southern slums of Ardashirshahr in the Alalehzamini Autonomous Republic. From an early age, he displayed an unusually zealous devotion to the doctrines of the Humanism, and proved receptive to further developed indoctrination. At the age of thirteen, Kavar was purchased into the service of the United Ecclesiastical Corporation of Benacia and quickly rose through the ranks of the Sanguine Vigilate, the martial-religious order tasked with indoctrinating the masses on Elluenuueq.
His brutal methods and stringent piety brought him to the attention of the Worshipful Guild of the Sacred Carnifices, the much-feared inquisitorial servants of the Lord High Censor. In 1706 AN, Kavar was elevated to the ranks of the Guild as tribune after being commended for his zeal in eradicating black inns on the neglected byroads of Upper Elwynn.
As a newly anointed magister, Kavar threw himself into the Guild's work scouring the bailiwicks of Elwynn for any latent disloyalty or recusancy. His particular obsession became rooting out those who sought to introduce the heresy of Human Ecology into the realm disguised as Humanism.
His zeal and butcher's efficiency earned him steady promotions. By 1723 AN, he had achieved the rank of Magister, and was assigned to the Governorate of Absentien to purge the feral Amokolian tribes of any lingering Vanic or Batavian contamination.
As the year 1731 AN dawned, Zathras Kavar was one of the most implacable voices of hardline Humanist orthodoxy. To the rightly-guided of the Union-State, he was a figurehead of unbending order. But to the masses of Absentien, he is a dreadful spectre of destruction - a true incarnation of the regime's radical and purifying cruelty.
His appointment in the sixth month of 1731 AN as officer commanding of the Western Banner Group of Benacia Command was taken as being indicative of a specific intention on the part of higher command in the event that tensions between the Benacian Union and Shireroth escalated into an all-out conflict.
