The Yamaqhachan insurgency was an armed conflict which occured in Oportia between XIV.1709 AN and III.1710.

Background

The religion of Ssethassiks was present in Oportia since the country's independence. According to 1680 Caradian data, there were 1,139,835 Yamaqhachans in the region of Kulussi, which later partially became the Oportian federal city of Kalexisse, where the majority of population is of Yamaqhachan descent and practice the Ssethassiks religion.

The freedom of religion in Oportia is guaranteed by constitution, however some practices in the Ssethassiks religion violate the Oportian law, such as the practice of cannibalism, as well as punishments and imprisonments without the involvement of the Oportian legal system.

Following the Oportian XII.1709 expansion to the north, the entire native territory of Yamaqhachan people was covered, which led to big concerns in the local society of the freshly annexed territory.

Oportian Razzia

In response to the appeals of the Oportian government for assistance in combating the rising, Trans-Euran Command authorised the assembling of a volunteer force in Zeed. In order to bolster the volunteers authorisation was given to induct a number of Ghilman and kul contingents into the force.

Rank Number
Expedition to Vanie Assembled at Sazâvar (Zeed), IV.1710 AN
Raspur Pact Inspectorate Officers 12
Raspur Pact Commissariat Officers 96

Zeed Garrisoned Police 663
ESB Honoured Sons 741

Overall command of the expeditionary force was bestowed upon the Makhdūm-i-Azam, a mercenary of the Suren, who at that time was employed by the Trans-Euran Railway to chase down fugitives. His skills and experience in southern Eura would prove beneficial to the enterprise.
