The Volksbahn (Lanzerwald script: πππ»πΊππ±π°π·π½) is the national railroad company of the Lanzerwald Republic. The company is wholly owned by the federal government. The Volksbahn was created in 1751 as the successor to the Aemilianische Bundesbahnen following the 1751 restoration of the Lanzerwald Republic.
Accessibility
All railway and bus platforms, as well as all buses, trams and trains, of the Volksbahn are accessible to travellers who are blind or using a wheelchair. In intercity connections, every train has a train car where it is mandatory to remain silent to accommodate those who are sensitive to sounds. Volunteers, usually retired Volksbahn or Aemilianische Bundesbahnen staff, are present at many larger stations to assist those who need extra help.
Electrification
The main railway network of the Volksbahn in the Lanzerwald Republic is electrified with 25 kV AC, this includes all major connections between the large and smaller cities on the east coast and all passenger connections except on the Tundralinie between Herodiasgrad and Damenwald. Freight connections further inland are often done with diesel locomotives, or with steam engines on isolated company tracks. especially the WMF-Baureihe 206 and OMW Schwere Dampflokomotive. International freight connections over the Cibolan Rail network are preferably done with electrical locomotives. The electrification adheres to Cibolan Rail standards so the entire electrified network is accessible to all trains that also adhere to this standard.
