The Ludwigshafener Eisenbahnbewirtschaftungsbetrieb is the national railway company of, the Lanzerwald, previously Sankt Ludwigshafen. The company has its seat in Stadt Sankt Ludwigshafen and is wholly owned by the republic. The company was established in 1700 AN, after the moratorium on infrastructural projects outside Stadt Sankt Ludwigshafen's city walls ended. The company was awarded ownership of the local railroads in the seaport of Oudorp, and maintains a service between various warehouses in that port with a single steam powered shunting locomotive. Despite its ambitions, the company had not constructed any railroads outside the port of Oudorp during the era of the Republic of Sankt Ludwigshafen. Following the Second Ludwiggian-Monovian War which saw a union between the cities formerly belonging to Zandarijn and the cities of Sankt Ludwigshafen, a greater need for long distance transport arose and the newly formed Steden-Generaal issued subsidies to create a railroad network. To be able to make tight curves in narrow valleys and difficult terrain, the decision was made to switch to narrow-gauge railways. The first narrow-gauge railroad that was constructed was the line Stadt Sankt Ludwigshafen to Oudorp, after that the line Stadt Sankt Ludwigshafen to Vulcuria over Grenstad was constructed and finished in X.1711.
In XIV.1713 the Ludwigshafener Eisenbehahnbewirtschaftungsbetrieb was replaced by LanzerwaldSpoor, which inherited all its assets.
