Norton (Crandish: Nurtdun, "north town"; in Hurmumol: Nurtun) is a Hurmu town and municipality in the south-central parts of the Lake District. While the town encompasses the Holy Lake of Anset, the town itself is located slightly south east of the lake. Population of the municipality is close to 400,000 while the town itself houses about 75% of the population.

Founded 1481 or 1482 by Crandish tribes from Anglien, the town was Crandish for about a decade or so before turning to the Green. Besieged by the Storish during the latter stages of the Conquest of the Heartland, finally taken and subjugated in 1500. Remained Storish for 185 years until 1685, when Stormark collapsed. The town was under no effective government until late 1689, when the Hurmu Trust Territory established a present there, and becoming part of the sovereign Hurmu a year later.

Despite its name it has no relation to Emperor Norton, after whom the Norton calendar was named.
