Hurmumol
Hurmumol is the ancestral and liturgical language of the Hurmudans. In daily life, Hurmumol was replaced by Hurmu Norse in the 14th century. The name Hurmumol is actually Hurmu Norse in origin, from Hurmumaal, meaning "Hurmu language". In modern Hurmu Norse, however, the name of Hurmumol is spelt Hurmumol.
The word for the country of the Hurmudans, Hurmu, means sky in Hurmumol, and it is derived from the word Hurmu-dan-ka ("Sky people"), reflecting the mythological belief that Hurmudans came to Micras through meteors from the sky.
Orthography and pronunciation
Hurmumol takes its letters from the standard Machiavellian alphabet, without diacritics. It uses, however, hyphens (-) and apostrophes (') liberally.
