Armiger Yukio, Viscount Audon of Varmland
Adopted 1539

The coat of arms of Varmland (officially the Heraldic Achievement of the Viscount Audon of Varmland) is the symbol of Varmland. It is used by the government of Varmland and is also the personal coat of arms of Yukio, the Viscount Audon of Varmland.

The coat of arms, adopted in 1539 by King Audon of Nidaros, the first Viscount Audon of Varmland, is heavily based on that of Babkha. At that time, King Audon also reigned as Shah of Babkha has Rashid Shahanshah. As such, it features a circular shield in a Babkhan heraldic fashion, with two Euran lions as supporters, armed with swords.

The shield, with a golden bordure, itself is quartered, as follows:

  • Quarter I: The coat of arms of Babkha; on a black field, a golden lion and sun.
  • Quarter II: Something Ahura Mazda ish?
  • Quarter III: The coat of arms of the House of Ayreon-Kalirion; on a black field, the mountains of Yaanek, illuminated by the golden Star of Sathrati.
  • Quarter IV: The coat of arms of Nidaros (without the silver Nidaros rose); on a white field, with a red bordure and red bend sinister, a black stag.

Upon the shield is escutcheoned a smaller circular shield, with a golden bordure, on a black field, the red flame of Varmland. The red flame is also seen on the flag of Varmland.

Finally, the collar of the Order of the Holy Lakes hangs around the coat of arms.
