Edgard III (born Edward Albert Louis Carrillo Rothborne, 11.XII.1664 AN) is a Natopian royal, and the sovereign duke of Anglien. He is the titular Emperor of the Alexandrians, the titular King of Caputia, the titular King of Hamland, the Duke of Triegon (Natopia), and the Baron San Juan (Imperial Peerage of Shireroth).

He has five siblings: his twin sister Princess Carla (b. 1664 AN), Princess Andrea (b. 1665 AN), Prince Lewis (b. 1669 AN), Prince Felipe (b. 1671 AN), and Prince Donat (b. 1673 AN).

Early Life

Titular Dauphin of the Empire

Titular Crown Prince of Caputia

Co-Emperor of Western Natopia

Emperor Consort of Natopia

Titular Emperor of the Alexandrians

Edgard III succeeded to the titular dignity of Emperor of the Alexandrians on the death of his father, Francis Joseph IV, on 2.V.1737 AN, and was crowned on 1.XV.1737 AN. By the Letters Patent on the Alexandrian Imperial Dignity of 14.VI.1758 AN, issued with the Rothborne Settlement but deliberately kept separate from it, he designated his eldest child, Empress Clara, as successor to the dignity, and after her Princess Sayari, heir apparent to the throne of Nouvelle Alexandrie. From Sayari onward the dignity is declared inseparable from the Crown of Nouvelle Alexandrie. The Letters Patent provide that it does not travel with the Caputian crown, with the throne of Natopia, or with seniority of birth in the house.

Titular King of Caputia

Edgard III succeeded to the titular crowns of Caputia and Hamland on the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth I, in 1723 AN, taking in Caputia the regnal name Edward I. With the crowns passed the headship of the House of Rothborne, and with the headship the chairmanship of the Royal Caputian Government in Exile, which holds the records, archives, and National Credit System of the former kingdom and acts as steward of the Caputian diaspora.

On 14.VI.1758 AN he settled the succession to both crowns. The Rothborne Settlement, adopted by the Rothborne Family Council at the ducal court in Johannsessbuurg and confirmed the same day by his letters patent in each titular capacity, declares the two crowns an indivisible pair and designates his second child, Princess Guinevere, as sole heir, the succession passing in contingency to her issue in order of birth and then to Princes John and Ferdinand. By further letters patent of the same day he named Guinevere's three children, Edward, Regina, and Donat, to the House of Rothborne.

Succession to the Imperial Throne of the Imperial State of Constancia

In accordance with the Petropolis Compact of 1734 AN, he was constitutionally placed in the succession to the Imperial Throne of the Imperial State of Constancia.
