She was born in Huyenkula, Hurmu but grew up in Taktwinkel in the Confoederatio Aemilia, which later became the Lanzerwald Republic. Her godparent is Mondo Etzeterra. Mondo Rechter-Katzenfreund lost her mother Gray Rechter when she was only two years old and was raised by Theodor Katzenfreund as a single father. She was a student at the University of Walstadt, focusing on food security before joining the government of Volksratvorsitzende Leah Nasir in 1752 as Minister for Agriculture. During the 1753 MTO secretary-general election, she was nominated by the Lanzerwald delegation to become the new MTO secretary-general. The bid was unsuccessful.
As Minister for Agriculture Mondo Rechter-Katzenfreund set a focus on intensification of agriculture, especially in the fertile lands in the north of the republic.
