Taktwinkel
Taktwinkel, full the City and Countryside of Taktwinkel (South Cibolan Saxon: Stadt und Land von Taktwinkel) is a small country in Southern Cibola, it is one of three jurisdictions of the Confoederatio Aemilia . The country was previously a small town in the Republic of Sankt Ludwigshafen, but never noticeable enough to be depicted on the MCS map. In 1723, three years after the fall of Sankt Ludwigshafen, the people of Taktwinkel worked together with the Mondosphere to establish their city and its surroundings as an independent country. Already during the period of Sankt Ludwigshafen, the craftspeople and merchants of the city had amassed some wealth, mainly through the sale of ornate cuckoo clocks and fine wines, and they were hesitant to lose their wealth in the anarchy of the ungoverned Lanzerwald. Local socialite, and winner of the towns annual beauty contest in 1722, Emilia Antoinette was especially vocal in expressing her concerns and in X.1723 she started a campaign for Taktwinkel to become an independent state, rather than a city in the dysfunctional Republic of Sankt Ludwigshafen. Because of her attention to aesthetics, opponents of her plans made fun of her by calling her a little princess, a title she and her followers adopted. In a referendum organised by the city council on 10.XI.1723, 78% of the voters agreed with a proposal to declare independence from Sankt Ludwigshafen and become a Principality under the reign of Princess Emilia Antoinette. As the city of Stadt Sankt Rosa emerged close to Taktwinkel, it was first absorbed into the Principality, similar to the island of Murder. On 1.I.1724, Princess Emilia Antoinette decreed that the City and Countryside of Taktwinkel, would be just one of the three jurisdictions of the Aemilian Confederation, with Sankt Rosa and Murder as equal partners. All three countries would be autonomous on local issues.
