The Benacian Union Kalgachia Aligned Corridor Exchange (BUKACE) is an internationalised transportation corridor permitting the the rapid north-south transit of notified units of the Benacian Union Defence Force through the otherwise sovereign territory of Kalgachia via the long-established subterranean railway networks of the otherwise notoriously isolationist state.
Originating in the 1703 "BU-KAL" Talks, the Benacian Union Kalgachia Aligned Corridor Exchange was declared to be in operation by the Benacian Union with effect from the final month of 1705 AN. It subsequently transpired that this declaration pertained to the transportation corridor alone, rather than to the infrastructure that would be required to connect Kalgachi Railways with the somewhat moribund Benacian network.
For political reasons the BUKACE is not permitted to pass underneath the heart of the Oktavyan mountain range, the core territory of the Kalgachi state.
The portion of the agreement which allowed for the transit of personnel and equipment from Benacian Union Defence Forces via the corridor was suspended temporarily owing to the War of 1712, but civilian passengers and commercial cargo was allowed to resume from 1713 AN onwards.
