The Nijima national football team is the football team which represents the micronation of Nijima. It is a member of the EMUFA. The team is the official successor of Hoenn, and as such retains its records.
History
The team was founded in mid-2019 after Nijima successfully claimed on Micras by gaining independence from Hoenn. As Hoenn, the team first competed in the 2017 World Cup qualifiers, placing third in their group, before competing in and winning the inaugural Devon Shield.
The team finished second in their 2018 EMU Championships qualification group, advancing to EMU 2018, where they advanced from their group but lost their semi-final, but beat holders Passas to secure third place.
Hoenn advanced from their 2019 FMF World Cup qualification group as winners to qualify for their first ever FMF World Cup finals, where they were eliminated at the group stage before being succeeded by Nijima soon afterwards.
