The Emirati Red Lion and Sun Society is a Sathrati humanitarian organisation. Inspired by and modelled after the Red Sun and Moon Society in Sanama the Red Orchid Society in Elwynn, which in turn was inspired by the Red Lion and Sun Society of Babkha, it received its charter in 1682 from the emirati government of Sathrati.
The Red Lion and Sun is an important symbol in Babkhi culture, which is the dominant culture of the elite in Sathrati.
In 1683, the Emirati Red Lion and Sun Society became a member of the Organisation of Red Symbol Societies.
On 8.III.1691 AN the Council of Sathrati instructed the General Meeting of the Red Lion and Sun Society, held at Erudition on the island of Amity, to accept the appointment of Zurvanudin Miran al-Osman and Ayesha al-Osman as Chairman and General Secretary respectively.
