The Woodrow Institute is an organisation that records the genealogy of Scott Woodrow. The organisation has two offices, the head office at Huyenkula, Hurmu, and an office at Maulikpur in Çakaristan.
The origins of the institute lie in the order of the Sultan of Çakaristan. There were already rumours that the Çakar family were related to Scott Woodrow. This turned out to be true and after that further research was done after the descendants of Scott Woodrow. As a result, the institute is also the administrative office for all members of the Order of the Holy Lakes, who are descendants of Scott Woodrow.
Genealogy of Woodrow
- See: Line of Woodrow
There were 212 members of the Woodrow family tree registered with the Institute in 1701 AN. Because of the troubled history of Scott Woodrow's descendants, the Institute is conducting research. With archive documents and DNA material, the family tree is being reconstructed as completely as possible. This is directly related to membership in the Order of the Holy Lakes.
The research is difficult because registers are not kept consistently. Especially during the periods when parts of the present-day Çakaristan were in the Green. As a result, new discoveries are still being made regularly, and members are being added.
Nobility
In Çakaristan, descendants of Scott Woodrow are considered nobility, as are the spouses of descendants. Despite not necessarily being associated with possession of land or ruling position. It was not until 1746 AN that a formal honourable title was granted to descendants and their spouses. This is the title “Patil” (पाटिल), which comes from the Adarani language. The female variant is ”Patlin”. The formal form of address is "highborn lord" or "highborn lady".
Election Office
By far the most members of the Woodrow family live in Çakaristan. But through their membership in the Order of the Holy Lakes, they have voting rights in Hurmu. The office in Maulikpur acts as an election office for all members of the Order of the Holy Lakes resident in Çakaristan (regardless of line). Here the ballot papers are collected and submitted in Hurmu.
