The Javelin F-18 Cyclone is a proposed fighter aircraft concept that is under development in Nouvelle Alexandrie and Ransenar for the Federal Forces of Nouvelle Alexandrie and the Royal Ransenari Armed Forces. It is being developed under by a consortium known as the "Cyclone Compact", consisting of the New Alexandrian Department of Defense, the National Science Administration, Javelin Industries, the Ransenari Ministry of Defense, MetaAvionics, and Kerularios & Company.
Development & production timeline
In the second month of 1700 Officials were obliged to confirm the existence of an airworthy prototype following widespread reports, sourced from eyewitness accounts, film footage and photographs, of an all-black jet delta winged aircraft of unknown configuration conducting flights from La Columna Air Force testing site. This was not however the finished design, but rather a testbed for proofing aerodynamic principles and evaluating the titanium based stressed metal fuselage, wings, and composite coating materials. Indeed the engines for the prototype had been extracted from the airframe of a B-67 Shahrukh supersonic bomber originally donated by Benacia Command.
By 1710 AN, five production models had been completed. Of these three were delivered to the Federal Forces of Nouvelle Alexandrie whilst the remaining two were transferred into the custody of the Grand Army of Ransenar.
Consortium
On 16.XII.1703 AN the purchasing consortium for the F-18 Cyclone was formalised following a meeting of representatives from allied defence staffs at Alkhiva in Alduria. The Imperial Constancian Armed Forces and the Benacian Union Defence Force both expressed interest, ensuring that additional funding and resources were made available.
