Sint Barentsz is a city state in Northern Apollonia that was the capital of Alrig's Northern Circle in the Democratic Apollonian Republic of Kildare. The city is an important trading post for the United North Apollonian Company. The island previously belonged to the Jingdaoese Empire and the United North Apollonian Company has salvaged most of the infrastructure that the Jingdaoese left behind. The island was named after Barend Barentsz, the instigator of the Cabbage Plague and siege of Shirekeep, also count of Te Gong Li, who is regarded as a pan-Jingdaoese hero. In V.1707 the city declared itself independent from the Republic of Alrig after intelligence on negotiations between Kildare and Shireroth on a possible union leaked. The declaration was mostly ignored, as most politicians on the mainland were not even aware of the island state's existence.
