To the grief and consternation of many, to nothing of the strain placed upon the credulity of many others aside, the planet of Micras has been obliged to play host to numerous entities over the centuries claiming to be the representatives of powers inhabiting worlds located outside of the Atos system. Whilst the majority of these extraterrestrial interlocutors have been human in origin, more or less, a distressing number have manifested in forms that are fundamentally alien in their very nature - indeed it is these abominations, such as the safir, that have given rise to concerns about the status of Humanity in the wider galaxy, and fuelled the rise of the Humanist Movement on Micras.
The list of extraterrestrial contacts is maintained by the Defence Against Anomalous Phenomena of the Raspur Pact, and this perspective should be taken into account when perusing the entries.
