The Ransenari general election, 1693 was held over two days, between 5.XII.1693 AN and 7.XII.1693 AN, with 45,897,711 registered voters entitled to vote to elect members to the Ransenari Congress. The election took place in 411 constituencies across Ransenar.

The election resulted in a large swing to the Ransenari Liberation Party similar to that seen in the election of 1688. The Imperial Democratic Party, seen as the natural governing party of the Kingdom, saw its electoral advantage across many counties in the Kingdom collapse as the party dealt with strong electoral headwinds, scandal, and "Hartmania", a brief but pointed surge in popularity for the leader of the Ransenari Liberation Party party, the affable and charismatic Wilson Hart. The Nationalist & Humanist Party saw its share of seats increase but remained in third place, the kingmaker in the upcoming Ransenari Congress. The Nationalist & Humanist Party also benefitted greatly from the absorption of the Golden Order Coalition, previously an independent party contesting seats in Ransenar, ahead of the election.

International news outlets have described the result of this election as a historic break from the domination of the Imperial Democratic Party. The 1693 general election dealt the Imperial Democratic Party with some serious blows: it was the first time in Ransenari history that it did not receive the most votes in a general election and its total overall vote share fell to a historic low.

As the largest party in the next Ransenari Congress, the Lord Protector Ruadh Aldric begrudgingly asked the leader of the Ransenari Liberation Party, Wilson Hart to form the next Government. This was done following the conventions and protocols of government formation of Ransenar. However, the Ransenari Liberation Party advocates an aggressive nationalist agenda that includes withdrawing from the Raspur Pact, invading Chryse, and invading Elwynn to take the Sovereign Confederation and proclaiming the United Republic of Goldshire. These views are seen by many of the other parties as abhorrent, and during the campaign, the leaders of the Imperial Democratic Party, the Nationalist & Humanist Party, and the Buffalo Party of Ransenar ruled out forming a coalition government with the Ransenari Liberation Party.

After days of talks and negotiations amongst the parties, the Imperial Democratic Party, the Nationalist & Humanist Party and the Buffalo Party of Ransenar agreed to a historic coalition agreement called the Contract with Ransenar. Willihard Cason resigned as leader of the Imperial Democratic Party and was succeeded by Robert O'Toole, who became Lord Chief Steward of the new coalition.
