Fatehpur Sikria is a people's republic in western Sanama. The region has a population of 13.5 million people and an area of 2,012 km2, making it the second most populated and smallest people's republic. The republic was formed in 1702 and is coterminous with the former Fatehpur Sikri province. The republic is dominated by the Fatehpur Sikri metropolitan area, the second largest in Sanama after Niyi. It is bordered to the west by Panetira, to the north by Kortilhera, to the east by Indipendensa and to the south by Sikri Bay, a bay of the Cosimo Sea. The capital Fatehpur Sikri is located at the mouth of the Blackwater River.

Geography

The republic is heavily dominated by the continuous urban area of Fatehpur Sikri. The massive Blackwater River cuts through the republic from north to south in two branches. The republic is also the densest populated in the country. There are both forests and farmland to the southeast, making up almost all of the productive land in the region.

Economy

Fatehpur Sikri is the financial hub of Sanama, stemming back to Shirerithian times when the Fatehpur Sikri area was the center of this part of the south Benacian coast. It is also a major transportation hub for western Sanama, with several railway lines and major roads crossing the republic. Sadri Industries out of Talenore has established its Sanaman branch in the city, trading mainly in industrial and mechanical products. Omega Airlines, with hub in the region and owned by Apishe Group, is headquartered in Fatehpur Sikri, while Siccre Maritime Industries is headquartered in West Fatehpur Sikri. Sanama State Maritime Industries also has a construction facility in West Fatehpur Sikri. Several units from the Sanaman Union Navy are also based in West Fatehpur Sikri.

Politics

The people's republic is governed by a 15-member Executive Council and a 311-member Legislative Assembly. Just as in other parts of Sanama, the civil service and government in the republic is marred by corruption. Unlike Niyi though, Fatehpur Sikri politics is dominated by the Babkhi mafia Sababi Mo (Our Cause), also called Oila (The Family).
