Farizal bin Marlias (born 29 June 1986) is a Dauian professional goalkeeper and goalkeeper coach for Young Stars FC.
Youth career
Marlias was born in Makan, a village off the south of Jurong. Farizal was tought football at the age of 6 and fell in love with the goalkeeper position soon, he played with local youth team Makan Lions until he moved to the capital at the age of 15. He trained with academies in Seragaan before joining the infamous Daau United academy at the age of 17. He stayed with the academy until he was 21 where he suffered a massive injury which set him back and missed out on a professional contract offer.
Club career
Salawak Crocs
Farizal signed for Salawak Crocs on an amateur deal at the age of 22.
Bintang Lukana II
Marlias signed for the Bintang Lukana II side as a first choice goalkeeper to help the B team stay afloat in the Northern Seragaan League. He continued his stay with the B team as he gained his coaching licenses to coach the club's youth teams and aid the goalkeeping department if needed. He scored his first career goal through a penalty against Dintav Ghalraji FC.
Farizal left the side following his emergency promotion to the first team.
Bintang Lukana
Farizal would be called out of retirement ahead of the 2022–23 season due to the sudden departure of all Bintang goalkeepers. He was dubbed as the new clutch player for the team as they were unable to secure any other goalkeepers but him. Farizal would make his debut in a 2-2 draw to Daau United. Farizal played all games during the 2022 Daau SuperShield and was awarded a bronze medal.
Despite all the hate he received, Farizal managed to pull through and make a combined 17 appearances for the club professionally. He was then sidelined for the in the middle of the season due to a heavy injury as he clashed with Han Wenshu of Daau United in the reverse fixture. Farizal would depart Bintang on a free transfer as his contract expired.
Young Stars
Farizal signed with Daau Super League side Young Stars on a player-coach basis as he looked to get himself back into the Dauian football scene.
International career
Farizal made his debut in a 2-2 draw to Krasnovlac in the 2022 Daau Opening Tri-Nations Series which he conceded an own goal for Krasnovlac as the ball rebounded onto him and onto the post then into the net. His careless mistakes led to another round of online comments degrading him which saw the DAFA openly criticizing the fans for their actions.
Farizal made his second appearance for the national team in a 0-0 draw to Oportia during the world cup qualifiers. He received a massive round of applause as he managed to keep a cleansheet and hold the Oportian attack at bay despite his injuries.

Farizal is a holder of an AEFA A License as he coaches the Bintang youth academy.
