The Fédération Nouvelle Alexandrienne de Football, commonly known as the FNAF, is the national football association and principal governing body for football of Nouvelle Alexandrie. It is responsible for the organization of the national team. It was established in 2021 (1695 AN) to oversee the development, administration and management of the sport within the country.

Background

The formation of the Fédération Nouvelle Alexandrienne de Football (FNAF) came about as a result of a desire to bring together the two previously independent football associations of Alduria and the Wechua Nation. Both nations had a rich history and culture of football, but the decision to join forces came about following the formation of the Federation in 1685 AN.

Early on in the formation of the Federation, in great part due to Jean Brown, the government recognized the potential for sports to bring people together and promote national unity. This led to the passage of the Promotion of Sports Act in 1694 AN, which saw the government invest heavily in sports infrastructure and development. This increased focus on sports provided the perfect opportunity for the two football associations to come together and form a unified federation. The agreement concluded that the Aldurian and Wechua Federations would then pass to become regional sports federations under the federal association. In the years leading up to the formation of the FNAF, leaders from both the Aldurian and Wechua football associations held discussions and negotiations to agree on the structure and governance of the new federation facilitated by the connections and meetings facilitated by the Committee for Alduro-Wechu Integration. They recognized the importance of creating a system that would allow both nations to continue to develop their football traditions while also fostering a sense of unity and cooperation.

The FNAF was officially formed in 1695 AN, with its headquarters initially located in the city of Punta Santiago, Alduria and offices in Parap, Wechua Nation. The federation was initially governed in its early days by a board of directors made up of representatives from both the Aldurian and Wechua football associations. Jean Brown served as its first President.

Coupe de Nouvelle Alexandrie

The Coupe de Nouvelle Alexandrie, also known as the L'Coupe Fédérale, is a highly anticipated event in the football calendar of the FNAF. This annual knockout competition allows clubs of all sizes, from the top tier Ligue 1 to the lower leagues, to showcase their skills and compete for the prestigious title. The tournament provides an exciting opportunity for underdogs to upset the dominant teams and create upsets, making it a favorite among fans and players alike. The competition format allows for a fair and equal chance for all teams, making it a true test of skill, determination and footballing ability. The current trophy awarded to the winners of the Coupe Fédérale is known as "La Coupe d'Or". Recognized as a magnificent piece of craftsmanship that symbolizes the prestige and importance of the competition, the trophy was designed by the renowned New Alexandrian artist and craftsman, Pierre Dupont, with the help from then-FNAF President Jean Brown. Its design features intricate patterns inspired by the architecture of Alexandria, which were then expertly crafted in gleaming gold. At the center of the trophy is a golden sphere, symbolizing the unity of the country and its football community, while the base is made of black marble, representing the strength and stability of the country. The trophy stands at an impressive 72 cm tall and weighs in at 8.5 kg, making it a large and impressive football trophy. The trophy has been awarded to the champion of the competition since its inception and is highly valued by the clubs and players. Each year, the winning club is presented with a miniature replica of the trophy to keep in perpetuity, as a reminder of their achievement.
