Eduard Antonius Reichhart Ludwig Battenberg von Schneedünen, a member of the mighty Walstädter Battenberg family, is a former diplomat. He was consul-general of Hurmu in Walstadt (1719–1730). He was removed from the position of consul-general in 1730 upon the discovery that his family had fraudulently derived its ancestry (and thus membership in the Order of the Holy Lakes) from Vali Ri av Silmahamnum. He was, however, allowed to keep his Hurmu nationality as the investigation showed that Eduard knew nothing of the fraud.
