The Davinson Islands national football team was the football team which represented the micronation of the Davinson Islands. It was a member of the WMFA and was run by the Davinson Islands Football Association.

History

The team was founded in early 2023 after the Davinson Islands' Micrasian claim was successful. Shortly afterwards, they competed in the inaugural SEEFF Championship, placing fourth in the four-team knock-out tournament. The team competed in the Benacia Cup qualifiers the following year, where they placed bottom of their four-team group after losing all of their matches without scoring a goal. The Davinson Islands left Micras shortly afterwards.

Kit

The Davinsonese home colours were traditionally dark green with a design of different shades of green on top, representing the forests and trees on the islands. The away kit was usually a mix of a lighter yellow colour and the signature dark green as detailing.

Supporters

Main article: Islanders

The national team's official supporter group was called the "Islanders" as a reference to the team's nickname of "Island Boys". The group was known to be a committed support for the players as members of the group would attend the national side's games regardless of the weather conditions, usually chanting in unison in their local dialect. The Islanders were considered an important link between players and fans as they had been known to organise community activities to allow the broader population to meet with the team.

Home stadium

The national team's home was the Davinson Sports Ground on Tuan. Due to the high level of aging infrastructure in the stadium, the national team was set to move into the Lapang National Stadium once it was fully constructed.

Media coverage

The Davinson Islands' matches were broadcasted on TwelveSports Channel 1 and Davinson Now Channel 4, with both having been the official broadcasters of the national team and having held exclusive rights.
