Babran (Elw: Баброн, Babron) is an Elwynnese bailiwick and city in the Ardashirshahr metropolitan area. Bordering Ardashirshahr and Eskenderiyebandar in the north, Qajar in the south, and Majid-e Aik in the east, Babran is situated on the west bank of the Blue Elwynn. Its population was 1,821,214 (as of 1680), of which 68% could speak Babkhi and 14% Elw as their native languages. Babkhi was the only official language of the bailiwick.

It was the site of a rather controversial memorial to Kaspar Soleiman raised by die-hard supporters of the Emirate of Sathrati during Kaspar's tenure as emir. The memorial has since become a curiosity, as with time, people have moved on from Kaspar's treachery. Since the reign of Adam al-Osman the reputation of Kaspar has undergone something of a rehabilitation - with him being considered to have been "the last man to enter the Senate with honest intentions". As of 1704 AN it became the fashion to "dress" the Kaspar Monument with the corpses of criminals and heretics executed by the magister assigned to the bailiwick. The remains of up to five hundred democracy activists have also been staked out around the monument in a macabre tableau as a warning to all those who would wish to replace the status quo that came into being after the Second Elwynnese Civil War with a constitutional or democratic form of government. Beginning in 1709 AN a concerted effort was made to remove the revolting collection of rotting corpses and scattered bones, the site having become infested with scavengers and vermin which had grown fat on decaying flesh of those who had been executed at the site. Following the physical cleansing of the site by felons from the Benacian Labour Reserve, conducted under the close supervision of the cudgellers, the monument and the bounds of the bailiwick were subjected to numerous purification rituals carried out by representatives of the denominations of the United Ecclesiastical Corporation of Benacia. The collected remains of the condemned were reportedly sold to bone-meal merchants for appropriate disposal.

The bailiwick was devastated by the airburst of a 350kt nuclear warhead originating from Shirerithian territory on 23.XI.1733 AN. Estimates after the fact indicated that the strike claimed the lives of 599,300 subjects with a further 224,940 injured.
