A Barony is one of the many kinds of subdivisions of a Duchy one can make in Shireroth. Currently not a position of much significance, since Barons can't speak in the Landsraad any more than a commoner. However, the position is recognised by Imperial Law and is a part of the feudal system, so it is a meaningful form of organisation (and will become more meaningful if we get a few barons in here again).
