Port Karsten University (Alexandrian: Université de Port Karsten) is a public research university located in Port Karsten, the second city of the Region of Isles of Caputia, Nouvelle Alexandrie. It was founded in 1698 AN to provide the region with a higher educational facility, offering tertiary education. It was the pre-eminent university on Isles of Caputia until the creation of the University of the Isles in Gotfriedplatz in 1733 AN.
History
New Luthoria University was founded in 1698 AN by the Department of Education, Sports, and Culture in conjunction with the Congress of the Isles to create a tertiary educational facility on the Isles of Caputia. Since its founding, it has been instrumental in the economic growth of the Isles, particularly through its contributions to the tourism industry, fishing, and energy research. It has six faculties, with the majority of students enrolled in Business and Maritime Sciences.
Since the opening of the University of the Isles, it has lost almost 40% of its original students numbers, leading to a halving of endowment since 1733 AN.
Shootings
The Port Karsten University shooting in 1700 AN involved the deliberate shooting by 21-year old Eustaquio Duran on the main campus. Six people were injured, and three law enforcement officers were killed subduing the gunman. Investigations led to Duran being labelled as 'mentally unstable' due to his prior dishonourable discharge from the Federal Forces, leading to clinical depression and anxiety. In the aftermath, the University was under federal supervision by law enforcement officers for almost 8 months.

Research
Port Karsten University has two modest research facilities, one focused on marine biology, and another on Life Sciences. It has partnered since 1733 AN with the University of the Isles for support in research and funding.
Campus
Port Karsten University is located in the eponymous Quartier Universitaire, and has four facilities: the Main Building, Science Building, Maritime Studies Building, and University Library. There are three dormitories for on-campus housing. It has two dedicated bus stops.
