The Gotzborg national football team is the football team which represents the micronation of Gotzborg. It is a member of the AEFA and is run by the RFA.
The team has existed twice in the FMF's history; firstly between early and late 2011, and secondly since early 2013. It is seen as the spiritual successor to Holzborg in that the vast majority of its players originate from this nation's team, but it does not retain its records.
History
The team was founded in early 2011 after Gotzborg's Micrasian claim was successful. The team competed in that year's World Cup qualifiers, finishing third in their four-team group with nine points. Gotzborg left Micras in late 2011.
Gotzborg returned to Micras in early 2013. However, that year's World Cup qualifiers had already begun, and so the national team was unable to be involved.
In their first qualifiers since 2011, Gotzborg finished second in their six-team group with 19 points to secure a place in the 2014 Copa Apollonia. Also in early 2014, Gotzborg became a founding association of the Triple Crown Championship and will compete in the inaugural tournament later in the year.
