Biography
Anthony Lynton Charles was snatched from his family home by a raiding party of Sea-Reavers during the War of the Casks. After being brought to New Blackstone he was then sold into slavery and transferred to the estate of a pro-Zinkgraven junker in Batavia where he was to be trained to serve his master as a page. At the age of fourteen, with his services no longer required, Anthony's master sold him to a recruiting officer of the Imperial Forces in 1661 AN.
In spite of being a landsman, Anthony was taken into the Imperial Shirerithian Navy as a squire, the rank of a trainee officer, on account of his heritage bestowing a presumed affinity with the sea. His service as a page had moreover meant that he entered into his condition as a loyal subject with a greater education than many of his non-aristocratic peers.
