Abbreviation MAT

Mataba, officially Daau's Autonomous Region of Mataba (abbr. DMAT) is a special autonomous region located in the west of Jurong, Daau. It has a total population of 150,000.

Mataba speaks the Matabese Dialect and the Daau Dialect. It is the only region in Daau which speaks Matabese.

The region was formed as the Matabese peacefully surrended to the Dauians in year 1606 when the Dauian Revolt took place, stating that the Matabese would like to be under protection and jurisdiction by Daau as they wish to live a peaceful life onwards from the Kozzakan colonization. Thus making Mataba under Daau but with more freedom and power than other regions in the country.

History

Great Matabese Founding

A group of Phinbellan immigrants from Daau wandered off into the western part of the country when they finally found water and other resources, the group quikcly settled down in modern day Utopb.

The immigrants would name the area Yawangha, meaning blessing from the above as they finally found a place to rest and develop their own society.

Arrival of The Sultan

The self-proclaimed Sultan

SAR under Daau

The then Sultan Fadli Idris would seek help from Mataba's neighbours Daau for help and protection in 1994 against other countries as Mataba was constantly under threat by bordering nations.

Daau would assist Mataba in the Kozzakan War a few months later, resulting in a joint Daau-Mataba victory.

Mataba would be accepted as a Dauian state and will also be granted the SAR status due to its long history and Daau not wanting to interfere much.

Geography

Mataba is a land-locked region in Daau, surrounded by Krasnovlac and Dauian territory in its borders.

Mataba is mostly flat land with barely any mountains near the region. Freshwater River Mata runs straight into Mataba meaning the Matabese people are rich in freshwater.

The region is also famous for its oil production, with it taking up 30% of Daau's oil production and trade due to the region being rich in oil and other resources.

Climate

The weather in Mataba is usually hot and humid. Temperatures range from 18° to 32° in a year.

Demographics

Districts

Mataba has a population around 150,000 and has a life expectancy rate of 89.53 due to it being peaceful and the low tax rates in the country plus a fertility rate of 1.23 children per woman.

The Matabese people take up most of the popluation (99%) while the remaining 1% is shared between Krasnos and Dauians. Most Krasnos live in the northern part of the country due to Krasnovlac being there.

Mataba has a total of 3 districts, being the Central District, West District, North District.

Gender Inequality

Due to the monrchy and influence by foreign countries, Mataba discourages women from playing sports at a young age.

Mataba however does not ban women from playing sports but they hugely unfavour women playing sports as it is against the local religion.

Sports

Mataba has its own league, the Liga Mataba. The league is counted as a Dauian league due to Mataba not being a FMF member yet.

The region also has its own football team managed by the Mataba Football Federation, the Mataba national football team.
