The Progressive Alliance was a political alliance in Nouvelle Alexandrie, formed during the 7th Cortes Federales (1723 AN-1729 AN) as the main opposition to the minority government led by the Federal Humanist Party (FHP), which was supported by the Wakara People's Party and eight independent Deputies. Initiated by Gabrielle Fitzgerald[1], leader of the Democratic Socialist Party (DSP), the alliance was proposed to unite the opposition against the FHP's governance after the 1723 general election resulted in a hung Cortes Federales.

Responding to Fitzgerald's call, the Federal Consensus Party (FCP), the DSP, the United for Alvelo (UfA) movement, and four independent Deputies formed the Progressive Alliance, with the FCP taking the lead. The alliance aimed to challenge the FHP's policies and present a united front in the Federal Assembly. Despite UfA leaving the alliance in 1726 AN[2], they continued to collaborate, maintaining a working relationship with the alliance members.

One of the alliance's significant achievements was the defeat of the National Service Act, 1726, in 1729 AN. This victory was achieved with the support of the Wakara People's Party and the same eight independents who previously supported the FHP, showcasing the alliance's ability to influence legislation and rally support beyond its immediate members.
