Wuqi was an island controlled by the Jingdaoese Empire west of the Benacian continent. A small city that is known under the same name is located on it. It is also home to the as are bases of the Imperial Jingdaoese Navy and the Jingdaoese air force. Together with Hexiehaizei it is one of only two Jingdaoese overseas territories. Like Hexiehaizei the island only serves a strategic military purpose.

In 1669 a Batavian envoy enraged the imperial administration by privately suggesting that Jingdao would hand over Wuqi to Batavia. The Chidao Emperor responded by ordering the Imperial Jingdaoese Navy to further fortify the island. The emperor furthermore declared that Jingdao would place ballistic missiles with infectious payloads on the island, that could reach 's Koningenwaarde. Batavia responded by saying that they would not "dream to impair the Jingdaoese in their great cultural development of Blackstone, after they stole it from their rightful government." In 1670 the Batavian tabloid 's Koningenwaarder Courant published an article saying that Jingdaoese bombers had approached the Batavian Regent Isles from Wuqi, and had been intercepted by the Batavian air force, these claims were later refuted but Jingdaoese-Batavian relations would not recover anytime soon. As of 1687, Wuqi remains alert towards Batavian aggression and the ballistic missiles (with a conventional payload) are still pointed towards the Batavian capital.

Wuqi was home to a population of Tufucangshu, also known as tee-al by impure foreigners. These animals were introduced there in 1674 and have become a stable population. The animals are fed by releasing prisoners in their habitat. In order to control the population and avoid the spread of the murderous hamsters over the rest of the island, the prisoners are first ordered to swallow packets containing a high dose of birth control medicine.

The Blackstone Issue

Before the island was part of the Jingdaoese Empire, it was called Blackstone. The island has been in Jingdaoese hands since 1648 when Ludovic Verion, the Lord of Blackstone, invited the Jingdaoese Empire to annex the island which it did. Lord Verion later claimed that he expected that the Jingdoaese Empire would maintain Blackstone's unique culture. Jingdao on the other hand claims that no conditions were given for the annexation and that it can do with the island as it pleases. In late 1687, Jingdao cleared the ruins of the Iron Company and Verion Hall. The rubble was used for the construction of new docks and a pier.
