A Long Service Medal is a recognition that is awarded to an individual, by His Royal Majesty, based on the length of his or her employment in official government service, whether in a civilian or military capacity, or the length of his or her citizenship. Many of the Long Service Medals are awarded in 1-year and 3-year increments, as such prolonged periods of employment are not typical when compared to the overall length of time most individuals participate in micronationalism.
