Konstantin Tiedemann (born Constantijn Tiedeman) is a Weisenburger lawyer, politician, and civil servant who currently serves as the second Chancellor of the United Principalities. Born to a Cibolan-Diets-speaking family in Zandarijn, he and his family would go on to Saxonise their names after feeling to Stadt Sankt Ludwigshafen after the Sack of Hamstadt.

He became Chancellor after the retirement of Hans-Georg Nimitz and receiving his endorsement and the endorsement of several other top politicians, he would become Chancellor following a landslide victory in the 1735 elections.

Early Life

Constantijn Tiedeman was born in early 1692 AN to Mathies and Julia (née Kleinemarsink) in the city of Hamstadt (now Hermannsplatz) in what was then the Craitish dominion of Zandarijn. His childhood was relatively normal until the Sack of Hamstadt in 1699 AN, whereupon him and his family became refugees and fled to the capital of Sankt Ludwigshafen, Stadt Sankt Ludwigshafen. There him and his family would Saxonise their names, with his name changed from Constantijn Tiedeman to Konstantin Tiedemann. The exactly reason for this name change is ultimately unknown, as both his parents died during the collapse of Lanzerwald and Tiedemann has expressed numerous times of his wish to not discuss the name change. This fact, along with his Zandarijn ancestry would later earn him much scorn from the mostly Saxon-born nobility of the United Principalities, who saw him almost as a foreigner.

Tiedemann would go on to join the Army of the Republic of the United Cities in the Lanzerwald after his 18th birthday in 1710 AN. He would go on to serve during the Lanzerwaldian-Whaler War, where he mostly served as an aircraft mechanic working on J-1 Lärms. He would be honorably discharged following the war, and began working as a paralegal in the city of Prins Haven (now Jürichen).

Career in the UPC

After the foundation of the United Principalities in 1725 AN, Tiedemann would move back to his newly rebuilt hometown of Hermannsplatz. There, he would go on to become head of the town's Chamber of Commerce. It is here that he would be noticed by Chancellor Hans-Georg Nimitz. After a series of phone calls and letters were made, Tiedemann would go on to become the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in 1729 AN.

Upon the retirement of Nimitz in 1735 AN, Tiedemann entered into correspondence with Nimitz of which the latter expressed his wish for Tiedemann to succeed him as Chancellor. Upon receiving Nimitz's official endorsement to run as leader of the Conservative-Nazarene Union, he would lead the party to a landslide victory in the 1735 elections and would be inaugurated as Chancellor soon after.
