Anthony Lynton Charles was snatched from his family home by a raiding party of Sea-Reavers during the War of the Casks. After being brought to New Blackstone he was then sold into slavery and transferred to the estate of a pro-Zinkgraven junker in Batavia where he was to be trained to serve his master as a page. At the age of fourteen, with his services no longer required, Anthony's master sold him to a recruiting officer of the Imperial Forces in 1661 AN.
