Arising from the 10th Vanguard Division, the Sathrati Vanguard Corps was an expanded paramilitary association and local defence force established on 12.III.1730 AN with the objective of defending Humanism. As such, the corps would be supportive of the Council of Sathrati and thereby considered an auxiliary force operating alongside the Jaysh al-Sathrati and other allied formations in defence of the islands of Sathrati. From its inception the expanded force would be notable for the variety of improvised weaponry that would be paraded by its members throughout the settlements of the Emirate.
Survivors of the Shirerithian invasion would eventually gravitate towards the Sathrati Resistance Army, an initially modest insurgency carries on by a loose coalition of separatists backed by Benacia Command.

10th Vanguard Division
The original 10th Vanguard Division remained operationally distinct from the wider corps, retaining the weaponry and armoured vehicles it had accumulated in the period since the musters of 1723 AN, indeed the officers and men of the division showed scant inclination to share any equipment at all with the Humanist youths and N&H cadre members who had been so hastily compelled into volunteering their services.
