The Flanders national football team is the football team which represents the micronation of Flanders. It is a member of the AEFA.
The team has existed twice in the FMF's history; firstly between 2009 and late 2011, and secondly since 2012.
History
The team was founded in 2009 after Flanders' Micrasian claim was successful. The team competed in the World Cup qualifiers the following year, finishing bottom of their five-team group with only one point.
In 2011's qualifying, the team were more successful, finishing third in their four-team group with eight points. Flanders left Micras later in the year but returned in 2012. Soon afterwards, the team competed in the inaugural Zeeburg Tournaments, where they finished last in the eight-team tournament on goal difference with three points.
In their first qualifying campaign since returning to Micras, Flanders finished bottom of their five-team group with five points to their name.
Flanders' fortunes improved in the 2014 qualifiers as they finished third in their six-team group with twenty points, missing-out on a place in the 2014 Copa Apollonia on goal difference to Toketi in the process.
