The 10th Federal Congress of Oportia is the current meeting of the legislative branch of the government of the State of Oportia, composed of the Chamber of Deputies of Oportia and the Senate of Oportia. It convened in Vanie, Oportia following the 1742 general election, which resulted in a narrow victory for Marcel Vermeuil of the Liberal Progressive Party of Oportia (LPP) with 51% of the vote in the run-off against Sofia Laurent of the Liberty Now! Movement (LNM).
The 10th Congress operates under Vermeuil's "Government of National Unity" approach, with the LPP maintaining reduced majorities in both chambers (173 seats in the Chamber of Deputies and 29 seats in the Senate). This session is notable for the formal split in the Federal Conservative Union, with the FCU Unity Faction led by Lawrence Marchelier supporting the government while the main FCU faction under Felipe Perez y Garza remains in opposition. Key legislation has focused on governance reforms in response to the Oportia–Nouvelle Alexandrie integration scandal, environmental policy, and economic reforms balancing progressive taxation with market mechanisms.
