Uppmanlandic language (uppmanländskt mål in Uppmanlandic) is a Hurmu–Norse language in the Normarkic group of the Pancontinental languages and the official language of Uppmanland. It is a conservative standard of the same pluricentric language as Army Crandish and Norrlandic.
Also related to Hurmu Norse but not always mutually intelligible. Considered mutually intelligible with Amalandic, Normark Norse, and Nidaros Norse.
OOC considerations
- Start with standard Swedish
- If a word was borrowed before or after Old Norse, first replace it with an archaic word, then with a synonym inherited from PIE or Proto-Germanic through Old Norse, if there is one. The etymological chain should be, if not an innovation, Old Swedish - Old Norse - Proto-Germanic - Proto-Indo-European.
- If there is none, see if there is an Uppland dialect word
- Check if there is an Icelandic construction that meets the criteria that can be borrowed
- If there is no such word, create a neologism from words derived from Old Norse or from PG or PIE with regular sound changes applied
- If that is impossible, borrow a word from Danish or Norwegian that meet the standard, or from Hurmu Norse
- If that is impossible, borrow from Estonian (Lakkvian) or English (Common Tongue)
- Deviations can be made if it makes more sense than a weird neologism
